Aside from being a
successful author, Chicago based Stanley G. Buford has also been
involved in small music projects since high school. Stanley loves to
combine good music with meaningful lyrics, as it appears on his brand
new project "Kids in the Kitchen.”
The proceeds from this
song will benefit his mentoring program, From Boys to Men Network
Foundation, as the music and lyrics are relevant in equal parts,
using a catchy melody and accessible contemporary rap song-structure
to encourage listeners to look deep into the storytelling. The tune
is inspired by a children’s multicultural cookbook Stanley wrote by
the same name. Buford insist “sometimes young people just need an
opportunity to see how great they really are. Cooking as a family can
help to build up a person from the inside out. Self-confidence and
pride are to be gained when achieving cooking goals such as meeting
deadlines and receiving praise for new recipes. Creativity, working
well with others and organization are also skills that can be gained
