From November 1978 to the present, Leo Vela has been an integral part of South Florida, as a Home grown Radio personality this American Hispanic has a very unique relationship with South Florida listeners as well as clients. As South Florida’s original Mix-Master he pioneered and helped establish the original “Miami Sound” that celebrates and represents America’s most unique City in the world.
As a true bi-lingual who can speak both English and Spanish without a trace of accent, Leo Vela is able to connect and communicate on a personal and emotional level with people from all walks of life. Leo evokes a sense of trust, motivation, and inspiration to the listeners. He has established a bond with his community and their leaders by volunteering and serving various charities and organizations throughout his distinguished career in South Florida including;
Amigos Together for Kids, United Way, Planned Parent hood, Marine Corps Toys for Tots, South Florida Women's shelters, Martin Luther King Community out-reach programs, Hispanic health awareness groups, Crime Stoppers both Miami-Dade and Broward Counties Police Departments, as well as Dade County, & Broward Counties Sheriffs departments.

Leo Vela Has entertained and informed several generations of South Floridians, from the original renegade, late 70’s Radio Station 96X, to the 80’s sensation and South Florida’s first Bi-lingual format Super Q, thru the 90’s at the Original POWER 96, and his crossover years with Hispanic Broadcasting / Univision Radio group, and Clear Channels Mega 949 and currently 93.9 MIA in the new millennium.
